Begin your work with purpose
Prayer Before Work
Offer your work to the Father through Jesus Christ before the first meeting, shift or task. Ask the Holy Spirit for honesty and patience, and St Joseph’s intercession as you serve the people affected by your work.
Scripture
Psalm 19:15 (NABRE numbering)
The psalmist asks the Lord to receive both spoken words and the hidden thoughts of the heart.

Prayer Before Work
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Father, thank You for the work in front of me today. Let my words, thoughts, and effort honor You, even in ordinary tasks no one else notices.
Give me focus for what matters, patience with other people, humility when I am corrected, and wisdom when a decision is unclear.
Protect me from anxiety and comparison. Help me work honestly, rest when I should, and take the next faithful step. In Jesus' name, amen.
An original prayer for personal use, not a liturgical text.
A practice for today
Carry the prayer into your next choice.
Choose a task that serves someone and begin without the feed. Ask: St Joseph, pray for us. The saints’ intercession leads to Christ and does not replace your own honest work.
Pray before the scroll
Turn this pause into a daily rhythm.
Pray Shield places Scripture and a short prayer between the impulse to open a distracting app and the choice that follows.
