Give God the moment before the feed

Prayer Before Scrolling

Before opening a feed, make the Sign of the Cross and ask Jesus Christ to guide this particular choice. This brief Catholic prayer is an invitation to freedom and charity, not a test of how perfectly you control your phone.

Scripture

Psalm 46:11 (NABRE numbering)

Amid violence and upheaval, the psalm calls people to recognize that God is God.

A paraphrase for reflection, not a verbatim Bible quotation.

Pray slowly

Prayer Before Scrolling

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Jesus, before I keep scrolling, I give You my attention and my restless mind. Interrupt the noise and help me notice what I am seeking right now.

Protect me from comparison, hurry, and content that pulls me away from peace. Teach me to use my phone without letting it rule my mood.

If I need rest, connection, or courage, lead me toward what is real and life-giving. Help me choose this next moment with You. Amen.

An original prayer for personal use, not a liturgical text.

A practice for today

Carry the prayer into your next choice.

Ask: 'What am I hoping this scroll will give me?' If the answer is peace, comfort, or connection, choose one direct action that can actually meet that need.

Pray before the scroll

Turn this pause into a daily rhythm.

Pray Shield places Scripture and a short prayer between the impulse to open a distracting app and the choice that follows.
